The Health Minister of Turkiye, Fahrettin Koca, said on Thursday that Turkiye will evacuate some wounded or ill children and youths on Friday as part of its third round of evacuations.
Koca stated on Thursday at the Esenboga airport in Ankara that three ailing Gazan children had been transported to Turkiye. He further stated that Turkiye would provide treatment for the children, who included a 2-year-old boy and two girls aged 9 and 10.
Permission issues had delayed the third round of evacuations, which included 50 people, but the minister said they were now mostly resolved and officials were working to finish preparations.
Ankara sent Egypt 800 metric tons of humanitarian aid, medical supplies, medicine, and medical personnel for Gazans. Turkiye wants to open a field hospital in Gaza near Rafah.
Turkiye has brought 150 Gazan cancer patients and their companions to Turkiye for treatment. This week, it has also evacuated over 100 Turks, Turkish Cypriots, and their relatives.
