Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated on Tuesday his intention to present a plan to U.S. President Joe Biden and his two possible successors, assuring them that dialogue would ultimately resolve the war with Russia.

Zelenskiy also noted the importance of Kyiv being in a strong position.

Kyiv’s incursion into Russia’s Kursk region was a component of the plan, according to the Ukrainian leader during a news conference. “However, the plan also included additional economic and diplomatic measures.”

He did not provide additional information regarding the subsequent steps, but he did declare that he would also speak with Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and, likely, Republican Donald Trump, the two nominees for the U.S. presidential election.

Zelenskiy expressed his desire to visit the United States and meet with Biden at the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September.

Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, declared on August 19 that negotiations were not feasible following Ukraine’s significant cross-border incursion into Russia’s Kursk region on August 6.
