Israel Bombed Building in Heart of Beirut

Israel bombed Beirut, resulting in the deaths of at least six people early on Thursday. This attack occurred after Israel’s forces experienced their most fatal day on the Lebanese front in a year of conflict with Iran-backed Hezbollah.

Israel claimed credit for the pinpoint accuracy of its airstrike on Lebanon’s capital. According to a security source, the massive explosion, which witnesses described as the closest Israeli strike to Beirut’s central downtown district, targeted a building in the Bachoura district, near parliament.

According to Lebanese health officials, there were at least six fatalities and seven injuries.

Iran’s most significant attack on Israel has prompted Israel’s war cabinet to consider its response. Israel said that it will respond soon.

Iran’s military chief threatened more strikes if Israel responded. Concerns about a full-scale war between the two regional military powers are growing. U.S. President Joe Biden opposes an Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear facilities.

In southern Lebanon, Israel is also conducting a ground incursion. The Israeli military reported that eight soldiers died in combat on Wednesday.
