North Korean Leader Threatens Nuclear Retaliation in Case of Sovereignty Violations

Must read

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said on Friday that the country would not think twice about using nuclear weapons or any other offensive force to defend its sovereignty from any aggression, according to state news agency KCNA.

Kim said that South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol’s threat to topple the North Korean regime at Tuesday’s military day event demonstrated which side was harming regional stability and security.

For decades, North Korea has been working on a nuclear weapons program, and experts believe they have the fissile materials needed to construct dozens of weapons.

South Korea commemorated its annual Armed Forces Day on Tuesday with a military parade that included a flypast of a U.S. bomber and a ballistic missile that is capable of transporting a substantial warhead.

In a speech, Yoon warned Pyongyang against using nuclear weapons, warning that the military and U.S. alliance would respond with a resolute, overwhelming force.
