In 2004, Harris won her first election as the district attorney of San Francisco, and she later served as the attorney general of California. Following her election to the Senate, Harris went on to become President Joe Biden’s running mate in the 2020 election.

On July 21, she declared her candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination after Biden withdrew from the ticket. In the history of a major political party, Harris is the first Black woman and the first Asian American to lead the ticket.

Former President Donald Trump is running for president as a Republican and hopes to win a second term.

Donald Trump, a native of New York, earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to his successful 2016 presidential campaign, Trump worked as a real estate developer, businessman, and reality television star, hosting “The Apprentice”.
