Kyiv: Russian Missiles Kill 34 in Sumy

Two Russian ballistic missiles pounded the northern Ukrainian city of Sumy on Sunday, killing 34 and wounding 117, officials reported.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has called for a strong international reaction to the attack on Moscow when President Trump’s efforts to hasten the end of the war seem to have slowed.

Zelenskiy uploaded a video to social media showing a city street with a litter of dead bodies, a wrecked bus, and charred cars.

“Only scoundrels can act like this.” He stated that the attack was aimed at taking the lives of ordinary people, noting that on Palm Sunday, some individuals were en route to church.

On social media, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated, “These attacks show just what Russia’s supposed readiness for peace is worth,”

The leaders of Britain and Italy also condemned the attack.

The attack came after a missile strike earlier this month killed 20 people, including 9 children, in the city of Kryvyi Rih in central Ukraine. Kryvyi Rih, Zelenskiy’s hometown, is far from the eastern and southern front lines.
