Russian drones attacked civilian targets and ignited a fire in the vicinity of Kharkiv in the early hours of Friday, according to officials. The number of casualties, however, was not immediately known.
Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Synehubov wrote on Telegram that civilian infrastructure and a locality were attacked after midnight.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said the fire was under control without further details.
After 90 minutes, the air raid alert in Kharkiv and other central regions was lifted, and there was no further update.
The Ukrainian air force reported that Russian drones were in flight through three regions, while alerts remained in effect in western regions.
On the Polish border, the governor of the Lviv region, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported that anti-aircraft units had been active.
