During a joint news conference on Tuesday, Stoltenberg stated that Russia has not taken any steps toward ending the conflict. He mentioned how Russia has increased its military presence in and outreach to countries like North Korea and Iran.
In his introduction, Stoltenberg emphasized that “Putin must not win.” As a result, it would be clear that aggression is productive and that force is rewarded. That would be bad for global peace and safety.
Stoltenberg also stressed the importance of NATO members fulfilling their promises to supply Ukraine with more weapons and other aid.
His comments followed Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s assertions from the previous week that China is “strongly considering” supplying Russia with “lethal assistance” in its war with Ukraine.
Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a press briefing on Monday, “It is the U.S., not China, that has been pouring weapons onto the battlefield.”
