Donald Trump took the office of the 47th president of the United States on Monday, and in his second inaugural address, he claimed that “the golden age of America begins right now.”

A closely divided Congress, inevitable litigation, and obstinate world leaders present President Trump with challenging tasks.

The new president declared in his 30-minute address to the Capitol Rotunda that “flourish and be respected again all over the world.” He promptly installed many appointees in various positions throughout the federal government.

Trump laid out his ambitious agenda to increase fossil fuel production, limit immigration, and expand American territory in a series of broad executive orders he issued shortly after taking the oath of office.

Trump signed the first of dozens of expected executive actions rolling back Democratic immigration, energy, trade, diversity, and other policies at an arena in Washington during an indoor presidential parade.
