Ukraine Launches Largest Drone Attack on Moscow

Ukraine carried out its most significant drone attack on the Russian capital, striking the Moscow region on Tuesday. The attack resulted in the destruction of dozens of homes, the death of at least one woman, and the redirection of approximately 50 flights from airports in the Moscow area.

Russia claimed to have downed at least 20 Ukrainian attack drones over Moscow, as well as 124 more in eight other regions.

Drone attacks on Russia caused damage to high-rise apartments in the Ramenskoye district of Moscow.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared that the drone attacks in Ukraine are “terrorism” due to their targeting of civilian infrastructure. He has also vowed to respond.

Kyiv has responded to Russia’s advances in eastern Ukraine by conducting a cross-border attack in the western Kursk region of Russia, which commenced on August 6, and by conducting progressively larger drone attacks that penetrate Russian territory.
