Zelenskiy: Arms Supplies Must Speed Up

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated on Monday that despite essential American weapons starting to enter Ukraine in small quantities, supply had to pick up speed because Russian invasion forces were attempting to capitalize on the situation.

The speed at which ammunition is supplied to Ukraine directly affects the situation on the battlefield, Zelenskiy and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said at a joint press conference in Kyiv.

“Timely support for our army. Today, I don’t see anything positive on this point yet. There are supplies; they have only slightly begun; this process needs to be sped up,” he stated.

After six months of legislative impasse, the United States last week approved a $61 billion aid package, giving Kyiv hope that its critically low stockpile of artillery shells will soon be restored.

Stoltenberg met with Zelenskiy during his third visit to Kyiv during the war and informed the Ukrainians that although NATO members had not delivered on their promises of military support in recent months, the supply of weapons and ammunition would continue to rise.

Restoring American weaponry in Ukraine won’t improve the situation on the front lines, according to Russia, which also threatens to attack storage facilities housing Western weaponry.
