The Pentagon announced that Ukraine will receive $400 million in additional security assistance from the United States, including air defense missiles, armored vehicles, and small drones.

The U.S. will send Black Hornet surveillance drones made by Teledyne FLIR Defense as part of the new aid package for the first time.

The U.S. Army placed an April $93 million order with FLIR Unmanned Aerial Systems for the small reconnaissance drones.

The Norwegian-built Hornet is being used by the Ukrainian government thanks to donations from the governments of Britain and Norway.

Additionally, the weapons aid package contains ammunition for Patriot air defense systems, National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASMS), Stinger anti-aircraft systems, additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), Stryker armored personnel carriers, and an assortment of other missiles and rockets.

The Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) funds the aid, allowing the president to rapidly transfer goods and services from U.S. stocks without seeking approval from Congress in times of national emergency.
