Ukraine Assaults Russian Naval Vessels In Black Sea

On the Crimean Peninsula, Ukrainian forces launched a massive missile attack against a strategic Russian naval shipyard, damaging two vessels.

Ukraine claimed on Thursday that it attacked two Russian patrol ships and destroyed an air defense system in the west of occupied Crimea.

The attacks come after Ukraine claimed the day after that it severely damaged a Russian submarine and landing ship at a shipyard in Sevastopol. The Russian Black Sea Fleet is headquartered in Sevastopol, Crimea.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated in a morning statement that the Patrol Ship Sergei Kotov had been attacked by five sea drones but that the attack had been repelled. There was no mention of damage.

Russia fires missiles at Ukrainian targets from a distance, using its Black Sea Fleet.

Last month, the Ukrainian navy used sea drones to strike back at Russia, damaging a Russian fuel tanker and a landing ship near Russia’s naval base in Novorossiysk.
