This research group examines how maritime domains and energy systems shape security, stability, and power projection. Core questions focus on the security of sea lines of communication, maritime chokepoints, offshore infrastructure, and the strategic implications of energy flows and dependencies.

Scope and Analytical Focus

The group analyzes naval activity, maritime domain awareness, port and infrastructure vulnerability, energy transportation routes, offshore assets, and the interaction between climate stress, energy security, and maritime competition.

Time Horizon

Short- to mid-term, with a primary focus on 0–24 months.
