Role of the Executive Board
The Executive Board is the primary decision-making body of Defense Domain. It holds full executive authority over the organization’s strategic direction, operational priorities, and institutional governance.
The Board approves strategy, budgets, and programs, oversees research quality and compliance, and ensures that Defense Domain operates in line with its mission, values, and independence safeguards. Authority is exercised collectively, with shared responsibility among members.
The Executive Board establishes governance frameworks and oversight mechanisms but does not interfere in day-to-day research production, thereby safeguarding analytical independence.
Executive Board Members
Co-Founder | Managing Director
Provides overall strategic leadership and external representation of Defense Domain. Responsible for institutional coordination, execution of Board decisions, and the protection of analytical independence across all research and governance activities.
Co-Founder | Research Director
Leads the research program and supervises the six research groups. Responsible for research quality, methodological rigor, peer review processes, and alignment of analytical outputs with Defense Domain’s strategic priorities.
Co-Founder | Operations and Finance Coordinator
Oversees administrative operations, financial management, and compliance functions. Chairs the Finance and Audit Committee and ensures transparency, sustainability, and regulatory alignment across institutional activities.
Technical and Data Systems Lead
Responsible for technical infrastructure, data governance, OSINT platforms, and cybersecurity. Oversees the integration of data-enabled and AI-assisted analytical tools in support of research activities and institutional resilience.
Communications and Outreach Lead
Manages institutional communications, partnerships, and external engagement. Responsible for outreach strategy, visibility, and ensuring alignment between research outputs and public-facing activities.
Strategic Board Member | Policy and External Relations
Provides strategic guidance on policy environments, external stakeholder relations, and institutional positioning. Contributes external perspective to Board deliberations on long-term strategy and engagement.
Strategic Board Member | Innovation and Ethics
Advises the Board on innovation pathways, ethical considerations, and long-term institutional development. Supports the integration of foresight, responsible innovation, and ethical governance into Defense Domain’s strategic direction.
